Welcome Back to school everyone! This September we hosted the Scholastic Book Fair. We were able to receive $500.00 in free books and $1500.00 in cash. I’d like to thank all the families and teachers who supported our fair. Without your participation we would not have been able to increase our annual library budget. Once again, un grand merci for supporting our first major fundraiser.
Unfortunately, this year, due to budgetary cutbacks our library is only open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and one Tuesday a month. Parents are welcome to drop by after school on these days to sign out books for their children. I have also posted the schedule for an “Adopt-a-Shelf” programme (which was introduced to me years ago by Wendy Cameron, an amazing teacher-librarian at General Wolfe school). Please drop by if you’re willing to spend anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes in the library shelf-reading and organizing shelves assigned only to you.
I would like to welcome the new and old monitors who help keep the library organized and clean. This year, 22 students have signed up to be monitors. Thank you for donating your time! It is much appreciated.
